SHOPPING
South Tipperary towns continue to grow, attracting a number of big-name retailers – as well as the independent old-hands.

Right across South Tipperary, the booming population and confident industrial sector have enabled our towns to grow and thrive. From Clonmel to Carrick-on-Suir, our heritage towns have developed excellent retail and wholesale shopping facilities. These traditional ‘market towns’ have always been shopping destinations, but their offerings have evolved to suit a changing clientele.
Family-owned businesses sit side-by-side with national retail stores in all the main towns. Boutiques, gift, craft and health shops, antique shops and bookshops are popular in the main shopping streets. For a more traditional shopping experience, visit one of our famous farmer’s markets – there’s one in Clonmel, Cashel and Carrick-on-Suir every weekend. Outside the towns, shopping retail parks have sprung up to serve the growing populations.
In most South Tipperary towns, shops are open 9-6 Monday to Saturday and some open for a shorter time on Sundays.
